Andy Warhol Unwrapped
A Pop Art Journey
with Dr. William Ganis

1:00 to 2:30

Cunningham Memorial Library Room 028

Cost: $15 Limit: 45

Join ISU Professor of Art, Dr. William Ganis, as he demystifies Andy Warhol, whose art-making continues to influence contemporary art. Many are still confounded by Warhol’s iconic images of consumer products, car crashes, and celebrities. These visually rich classes will introduce this giant of 20th-century art, examining his diverse roles across four decades: commercial illustrator, pop artist, conceptual filmmaker, queer idol, society portraitist, and Christian iconographer. The course will also feature a viewing of actual Warhol works from the ISU Permanent Art Collection. Dr. Ganis, author of Andy Warhol’s Serial Photography, brings unique insights from his time at the Andy Warhol Foundation.

Fee: $15.00
