Beginning with the rise of MTV and moving through the diverse musical styles of the ’90s and early 2000s, the course examines how human experiences are reflected in the music of the time. Discussions will cover basic musical terminology, standard forms, and stylistic elements that define major trends, as well as the cultural impact of prominent artists and songs.
